Plus One - Fostering Agency

Training & Support

Here at Plus One we believe in working as one team, with the emphasis of shared responsibility for both the child and the carer. We have an open forum where best practice and ideas are shared to create innovative strategies for caring for the children and the carers, ensuring that each situation is treated individually building stronger relationships and understanding for all involved.

Through the training and support provided by Plus One we are able to contribute to the stability of a placement, along with appropriately matching the needs of the child to the relevant carer who can fully support their needs, providing stability and a sense of security for the child.

Our support workers only carry a small caseload meaning each carer, and every child receives high quality support being able to access support during the day or night, supported with a 24-hour phone line in the event of an emergency or crisis.

Foster carers will receive the ‘Skills to foster training’. This will mean the carers will achieve an NVQ qualification through the training provided. The NVQ is a recognised qualification which further supports the role as a foster carer.
