What To Expect From My Foster Carers
Foster carers are given training to make sure they look after you properly. They have rules that they need to follow, and will also set rules for you to follow. They will also tell you what will happen if you break the rules, like not being allowed to have any sweets, watch tv or something else.
It may feel strange going to live with another family, so here is what to expect:
To be safe and healthy
To be happy and achieve
To be encouraged to do well at school
To be treated with respect
To be listened to, and helped with any problems
To have your own room, unless you want to share with a brother or sister.
To have your own space where you can be on your own when needed.
To be able to join clubs and do hobbies that you are interested in.
To have your own pocket money
Where possible keep in touch with family and friends.
Above all this we want you to be happy.
